With reference to research and examples of site-specific work produced in Sweden, these works demonstrate how natural phenomena can be apprehended and represented through the means of artistic production and how these can be translated into aesthetic experience. [/one_half][one_half_last]The works are physical recordings of idiosyncratic documentation methods involving: collecting and documenting ice on locations, ice printing on paper and recordings of ice melting projections. Extended experiments, based on investigation of the process of irreversible and spontaneous change of melting ice applied to paper, investigated how the transient and contingent qualities of ice can be employed in the process of printing and also serve as an alternative method for bringing the remote locations of the frozen Swedish lakes to viewers.[/one_half_last]

[three_fourth]Iwona Abrams is a Senior Lecturer at University of Westminster and Associate Lecturer at the Royal College of Art.
